What is it?

This December we are coming together for a shared moment in our annual calendar. The Solstice Half Marathon is inspired by Sean Conway's 21x21x21 challenge (the Solstice Run): run 21 kilometres, on the 21st of December (and June), at 21:00. It will be repeated each June and December.

Running in the dark

Bring a head torch and wear bright or reflective kit. Tell someone your route and keep your ears free so you can hear what's around you. This is general guidance only. See our FAQs for what to bring in winter.

Is it for me?

Everyone welcome. A half marathon is a big step. Walk breaks are fine, and there is plenty of time to build up at your own pace. You can explore our training plans if you would like a guide.

General information only, not medical advice. Speak to your GP if you have a health condition or injury, or any doubts. Stop and get advice if you feel sharp pain, dizziness or chest pain.
