Privacy notice

• Your name, email address and telephone number.
• An emergency contact name and number.
• The sessions you book and attend, and any payments for sessions, kit or plans.
• Your choices for the newsletter and run reminders.
• If you choose to connect Strava, your Strava activity data.

• To manage bookings, the attendance register and payments.
• To contact you or your emergency contact if something happens on a run.
• To send booking confirmations and the reminders you've switched on.
• To send the club newsletter — only if you ticked the newsletter box. You can untick it in your profile or unsubscribe at any time.

We never sell your data. We only share it with the services we use to run the club, listed below, and only as needed.

• Stripe — our payment provider, when you pay for sessions, kit or training plans.
• Lovable — our hosting, database and email delivery provider. Club emails like booking confirmations, reminders and order notifications are sent through it.
• Strava — only if you choose to connect your Strava account.
• Lovable's AI service (powered by Google Gemini) — only if you connect Strava. Your activity details are sent to it to help write the club's session and weekly recaps.
• Buttondown — our newsletter tool. Only newsletter subscribers' email addresses are shared with it.

The club newsletter is sent using Buttondown (buttondown.com), which stores subscribers' email addresses and sends the emails for us.

There are two ways to join:

• Tick the newsletter box in your profile, or
• use our public signup form at buttondown.com/WellesleyRunners.

We only email people who have opted in. New subscribers are asked to confirm their email address, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Members can also untick the newsletter box in their profile at any time.

Buttondown is based outside the UK, so your email address may be processed outside the UK.

Connecting Strava is entirely optional. If you connect it, we use your activity data for club announcements and weekly recaps. You can disconnect at any time from your profile.

To help write these recaps, your activity details — your name, and each activity's type, distance, time, pace, elevation, kilometre and mile splits, and segment efforts — are sent to an AI service (Lovable's AI service, powered by Google Gemini), which drafts the wording for us.

The finished recaps are saved by the club and used for club announcements. Because they celebrate individual efforts, recaps may mention connected members by name.

You can update your details and email choices on your profile at any time.

To see a copy of your data or have it removed, email hello@wellesleyrunners.co.uk and we'll get back to you within one month.

• To ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
• To correct anything that's wrong.
• To have your data deleted.
• To object to, or withdraw your consent for, marketing (like the newsletter) at any time.
